Say No to Polythene

In an effort to create awareness among school students and general public about plastic pollution, Food for Life Vrindavan school girls formed a human chain on the Parikrama Marg in Vrindavan along with the students from many other schools of Vrindavan. The plastic pollution has been causing a great harm to the environment and animals specially the cows. During this event, an awareness group from Braj Act Now performed a play to create awareness about the harmful effects of plastic. Our school girls also distributed fliers highlighting the disadvantages of plastic. The event was coordinated and headed by the principals of FFLV. Here are a few photographs from the event:

Janaki’s Kathak Classes

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul. It is the poetic baring of the soul through motion.” In the month of November, we had the pleasure of having Janaki Mehta visit our school. She is a professional Kathak Dancer and has been a long time friend and supporter of FFLV. This year she sponsored widow’s feast and ice-creams for our school children. She also gave dance classes to Mansi, our ex-student and now a Kathak Dance Teacher here at FFLV. Mansi is very grateful to Janaki and is all set to teach her new dance to the other girls. We thank Janaki for her service at FFLV this year. She has a big heart and we are proud of her. We look forward for her next visit.

She conducted a Doll Making Workshop for our school girls from the age of 7 to 14 years. She taught the girls how to make the body of the doll and the hair out of woollen threads. The girls also learned how they could use old fabrics to make beautiful dresses for their dolls. It was a fun session and the girls were overjoyed. Now they have their very own handmade dolls. We thank Sita for her act of love & kindness and the heart she put into this workshop to bring happiness to these young girls. Thank you for your […]
