Mr. Shailja Kant Mishra: A living inspiration

On the 26th of September, 2017, FFLV had the honor of a visit from the Vice President of Braja Tirtha Development Board, Mr Shailja Kant Mishra. Mr Mishra is a 1977 IPS officer from Mathura who was popularly known as a “Supercop” in the media during his work tenure and is known as an honest man, very committed to whatever he puts his head and heart in. Currently he is the representative and incharge of the government’s project for beautifying Vrindavan, Govardhan and Barsana areas of Vraja.

During his visit at FFLV, Mr Mishra addressed the school girls from the senior section. He shared with the girls his success mantras and told several inspirational stories and real happenings from his own life. He also narrated brave incidents of the Indian freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and Chandra Shekhar Azad.

However, most importantly he stressed upon maintaining cleanliness in our surroundings. He wanted to tell the girls to deeply believe that they alone are capable of changing the destiny of the country. and motivated them to live life for the benefit of others. “Cleanliness is a blessing and maintaining it is essential”, he said, “You are not a problem; you are the solution to all problems”.

The girls were very motivated and encouraged by the words of Mr Mishra and vowed to join hands with him. After the session, the girls lined up and asked him a lot of questions which he answered very patiently. They felt confident that they were able to contribute in making this world a beautiful place for living. In the near future the girls of FFLV schools will join Mr Mishra. They will go door to door in their localities to give away dustbins to their neighbours and educate them about the importance of cleanliness. We thank him for giving us his precious time and really look forward to working with him in the near future.
